Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will speak this weekend with his Russian and Ukrainian counterparts, Vladimir Putin and Volodimir Zelensky, respectively, about the agreement to export grain from Ukrainian ports, in which Ankara acts as guarantor and , during the last week, as the scene of new talks at the ministerial level on the evolution of the pact, recently renewed.

In an appearance before the TRT World Forum in Istanbul, Erdogan has advanced that the dialogue of the last days has been aimed at "reinforcing an agreement" that, in a special appearance by videoconference during the event, Zelenski exemplified as the kind of international initiative that could really have an impact on a rapprochement between kyiv and Moscow towards possible peace negotiations.

"Ukraine has called for the application of international law to solve problems and the agreement on grain has played an exemplary role in this regard," the Ukrainian president assured this Friday during the forum, reported by the 'Daily Sabah'.

It should be remembered that, this past Thursday, the Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister, Sedat Önal, and his Russian counterpart, Sergei Vershinin, began two days of talks in Istanbul on Thursday to examine the current status of the grain export agreement signed indirectly between kyiv and Moscow.

During his visit, the Russian diplomat visited the Joint Coordination Center in Istanbul that controls the application of the agreement between Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the UN, the Russian Embassy has reported on its Twitter account.
