Chinese foreign minister calls on Washington to stop interfering in China-Taiwan unification

He has also come back to say that Beijing has not provided Russia with weapons for use in the Ukraine war.

The Chinese Foreign Minister, Qin Gang, assured this Tuesday that, with Russia and China working together, the world will be more multipolar and there will be "greater democracy" in international relations, adding that their relationship "is not a threat to any country".

"With China and Russia working together, the world will have a driving force towards multipolarity and greater democracy in international relations," said the head of Chinese diplomacy in statements at a press conference collected by the Global Times.

In this sense, Gang has affirmed that the ties between Beijing and Moscow are not subject to any interference or discord "seeded by a third party". Thus, he has highlighted that, the more unstable the world becomes, "the more imperative it is for China and Russia to constantly advance in their relations", while he has stressed that their relationship is not a threat to any country.

Meanwhile, the Chinese foreign minister has stressed that the country is "firmly" opposed to "any form of hegemonism and power politics."

"We firmly oppose the Cold War mentality, the confrontation based on acts to contain and curb the development of other countries. We will resolutely safeguard China's sovereignty, security and development interests," Gang told the media, as reported by CGTN.

Asked about the real risk of China and the United States coming into conflict over Taiwan, the Chinese Foreign Minister has taken out the Chinese Constitution and has read: "Taiwan is part of the sacred territory of the People's Republic of China."

Thus, Gang has shown his rejection of what he has described as "interference" by the United States in the "sacred duty" of all the Chinese people to complete "the great cause of the reunification of the homeland."

"Why does the United States talk about respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity on the Ukraine issue, but does not respect China's sovereignty and territorial integrity on the Taiwan issue?" the giant's head of diplomacy has asked. Asian, according to a statement from the Foreign Ministry.

In this sense, he has highlighted the contradiction that Washington asks Beijing not to provide weapons to Russia while supplying arms to Taiwan, accusing the United States of "secretly" formulating a plan to "destroy Taiwan".

"The real threat to peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait is the separatist forces," Gang said, noting that "if the Taiwan issue is not handled well, the relationship between China and the United States will suffer."

"CHINA HAS NOT PROVIDED WEAPONS TO RUSSIA"

Meanwhile, the Chinese Foreign Minister has reiterated that China has not provided weapons "to any of the parties to the conflict" in Ukraine, once again calling on Moscow and Kiev to start peace talks.

Calling the Ukraine war "an avoidable tragedy," Gang said it was "unfortunate" that efforts to promote talks have been undermined by "an invisible hand pushing conflict."

"China is neither the creator nor the party to the crisis, nor has it provided weapons to any of the parties to the conflict. Why blame China, or even impose sanctions and threats? We will never accept it!" Chinese foreign minister, rejecting the US accusations.

In this sense, Ganj has stated that the crisis in Ukraine "has reached a critical juncture." "Either cease fire and stop the war, or peace is restored and the path of political settlement is undertaken, or fuel is added to the fire, it expands the crisis and drags it into an abyss out of control," he added.
