The Peruvian authorities reported this Sunday that at least two people have died and more than 30 are injured in clashes between demonstrators and National Police agents in protests against the government of Dina Boluarte.

The Prime Minister of Peru, Pedro Angulo, has assured in statements to RPP the death of two people in the framework of the protests.

The National Police confirmed the first death, which, according to the Ombudsman's Office, is a minor under 15 years of age. The relatives have indicated, according to the RPP radio station, that he died from the impact of a bullet.

Subsequently, the Hospital de Andahuaylas has indicated that an 18-year-old man has died after entering the health center seriously injured by a blow caused by a blunt object.

For his part, the regional governor of Apurímac, Baltazar Lantarón Núñez, has indicated that there are more than 30 people injured.

The regional government has declared a red alert in hospitals in order to "safeguard the lives" of citizens, while asking residents to avoid exposing themselves to risks and protect their physical integrity.

In addition, a minor under the age of 14 would have been hit by a pellet during the protests. A relative of the victims has requested that the adolescent be transferred to the capital, Lima, as an emergency.

As a consequence of the first death, a group of protesters have set fire to the Huancabamba police station, in Andahuaylas, according to the newspaper 'La República'.

Likewise, there have been demonstrations and riots on Abancay Avenue, in Lima, where the Peruvian Parliament is located.
