A medical team from the Peruvian Prosecutor's Office performs a toxicological test on Castillo

MADRID, 10 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

A legal medical team from the Prosecutor's Office has gone to the headquarters of the National Directorate of Special Operations of Peru, where former President Pedro Castillo remains detained for a toxicological examination, according to sources to 'El Comercio'.

The test will be carried out as part of the preliminary investigation against Castillo, who is accused of rebellion, for an attempted coup against Congress.

This news has been released after several close friends of the politician have questioned the state in which the former president was at the time of reading the speech with which he dissolved the Chamber and called early elections.

Hours before, congressman Guido Bellido, who was the first chief of staff of the Castillo government, had assured that he "was not in his faculties" at that time and suggested that it could have been an "induced" movement, for which reason He had demanded a toxicology test.
