The deputies of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom have arrived in Taiwan on Tuesday for a four-day visit in which they plan to meet with the Taiwanese authorities to address, mainly, issues related to the situation in the region of the Indo-Pacific.

The delegation of British deputies, headed by Alicia Kearns, will meet with the president of Taiwan, Tsai Ing Wen, in addition to other senior officials from the island, as indicated by the parliamentary commission in a statement.

"This visit to Taiwan has long been a priority for the Committee on Foreign Affairs. The United Kingdom enjoys strong cultural and commercial relations with Taiwan, which has served to share ambitions in areas such as energy, education or technology," he said. noted Kearns.

Thus, he has highlighted the importance of the "multiple security challenges" faced by both the United Kingdom and Taiwan and has highlighted the "constructive ties between democracies".
