Valenciaport Foundation participates in a project that will "revolutionize" interaction with AI

VALENCIA, 8 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Valenciaport Foundation participates in the Themis 5.0 project, a "pioneering" initiative in Artificial Intelligence (AI) to provide people with tools to evaluate the reliability of AI solutions in order to improve these systems.

The project's kick-off meeting took place in Athens (Greece) and kicked off an initiative whose ultimate goal is to "revolutionize the way we all interact and perceive AI."

Led by the Italian technology company Maggioli and with the participation of the Valenciaport Foundation, it has a total budget of around 3 million euros co-financed by the Horizon Europe program and managed by UK Research and innovation (UKRI).

Themis proposes an educational chatbot or conversational agent that will guide users through the process of evaluating AI solutions, bringing together developers, suppliers and users and training them to jointly create responsible, ethical and reliable systems. This approach is in line with the European commitment to foster cutting-edge, socially responsible, ethical and sustainable innovation.

Key goals include increasing transparency, demystifying AI algorithms, and making it easier for users to understand how AI decisions are made. In addition, it seeks to promote responsibility, encouraging users to question AI systems and detect biases and problematic aspects.

It also strives to maximize personalization and ethical integration, allowing users to incorporate their values and norms into AI systems, creating personalized experiences and ensuring that AI conforms to their ethical standards.

Finally, it seeks to encourage continuous improvement, providing developers and suppliers with valuable information that allows them to improve and perfect AI solutions.

The project coordinator at Maggioli, Hara Stefanou, states that "Themis 5.0 is an innovative project that represents a giant step towards a more transparent and reliable AI." "By allowing users to actively participate in AI decision-making processes, we are equipping them with the tools necessary to shape AI according to their values and expectations," she adds.

The Valenciaport Foundation will "actively" participate in the project by analyzing requirements and conceptual modeling of the ecosystem, creating principles and methodologies for human-centered development and developing a pilot in the Port of Valencia.

The Themis 5.0 consortium is made up of 16 partners representing 8 countries: Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Greece, Italy, France, Norway and the United Kingdom.

In addition to the Maggioli entity and the Valenciaport Foundation, the project involves IBM France, University of Southampton (UoS), SINTEF, Athens Technology, Engineering Ingegneria Informatica, Institute of Communication and Computer (ICCS), and Information Catalyst (ICE). ), 21c Consultancy, Danish Board of Technology (DBT), Catholic University of Leuven (KUL), Institute of Philosophy and Technologies Aesthetic Mi Kerodoscopic Theater (IPT), Athens News Agency - Macedonian Press Agency (ANA) and Medical University-Plovdiv (MUP) . . . .
