The TS summons Irene Montero to rule on the lawsuit that María Sevilla's ex-husband filed against her

Admits Rafael Marcos' lawsuit against the Minister of Equality for alleged violation of honor

The Supreme Court (TS) has given a period of 20 business days to the Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, to rule on the lawsuit filed by Rafael Marcos, the ex-partner of María Sevilla -the ex-president of Infancia Libre pardoned for the Government after being sentenced to two years and four months in prison for child abduction--.

In a car, to which Europa Press has had access, the magistrates have admitted the demand made by Marcos for an alleged violation of honor by considering that the minister presented him as an "abuser". It should be remembered that, as it is a civil procedure, admission is a regular procedure and Montero is not listed as being investigated.

The High Court has summoned Montero and the Prosecutor's Office to rule on the lawsuit and has reminded the head of Equality that if she does not appear within the 20 working days set "she will be declared in procedural default."

Marcos filed the lawsuit against the minister for an alleged violation of honor for the statements she made on May 25 at the inauguration of the new headquarters of the Women's Institute.

That day, after the pardon granted to Seville was made public, the Minister for Equality pointed out that the State "owes a debt" to "protective mothers" and that it must "be able to protect" these women who "protect themselves themselves and their children from sexist violence".

The ex-husband of Seville has assured that in this context the minister "presented" him as an "abuser of both his son and his ex-partner". For this reason, last June she demanded a compensation of 85,000 euros from Montero and asked him to publish a rectification acknowledging "the uncertainty" of his statements.

In addition, Marcos asked the head of Equality to attend a conciliation act as a prerequisite to be able to file a lawsuit for alleged illegitimate interference in the right to honor.

On the day that the conciliation act was scheduled, Montero's lawyer informed the Court of First Instance Number 35 of Madrid that he would not attend, thus refusing to reach an agreement with Marcos.

Faced with this scenario, the legal team of the ex-husband of Seville filed a lawsuit before the Supreme Court, where Montero appears as qualified due to her status as deputy and minister of the Executive.
