The PSOE accuses the PP of acting like Tejero and Gamarra reminds him that the 23F coup was given to the center right

MADRID, 15 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The PSOE has compared the PP's appeal to suspend the vote on the amendments to unblock the renewal of the TC with the coup attempt on February 23, 1981 and has even accused the "popular" of acting like those civil guards who broke into the hemicycle, to which the spokesperson for the Popular Group, Cuca Gamarra, has reminded him that this coup was given to a center-right government chaired by Adolfo Suárez. "You should review the story and not try to change it," she snapped at him.

In the debate in Congress on the penal reform to eliminate the crime of sedition and modify the crime of embezzlement, the socialist deputy Felipe Sicilia has accused the PP that, just as when in 1981 "it wanted to stop a plenary session and Democracy through of tricornes", today he tried to stop her again but this time with "robes". "But they have not succeeded because our Democracy is strong and solid," he said.

He was referring to the appeal filed by the PP to the Constitutional Court and which sought to paralyze the processing of this legislative initiative by way of the most precautionary measure. Sicilia has indicated that there is no doubt that the real reason why --the PP-- has blocked the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) and the TC is "because they use them as a last resort to win what they lose here --in the House--and at the polls.

The general secretary of the PP and spokesperson in Congress, Cuca Gamarra, has asked for the floor considering that these statements offend the decorum of the Chamber and has accused the PSOE of having initiated a memory process in which they intend to "rewrite democratic history from the country".

And he has blamed the socialist for having a "fragile" memory since when Tejero's coup took place in 1981 Spain was governed by the center right. "I think you should review history and not try to change it," he indicated amid shouts from the socialist caucus and applause from the 'popular', to end by saying that the PSOE will not be able to change "the future of history that you are unfortunately rewriting." .
