The leader of HSM reaffirms herself in the attack against the M30 Mosque in 2016 for financing terrorist jihadism

"I simply said a truth and I say it again today. I don't regret it," he says.

The leader of the far-right group Hogar Social Madrid (HSM), Melisa Domínguez, has reaffirmed herself in the trial of the attack on the M-30 Mosque that she led in March 2016 after the multiple attacks in Brussels for "financing terrorist jihadism ", stating that he does not regret anything and that he would not change "not one comma" of the statement that he then spread on social networks.

The protest came after a terrorist attack in Brussels (Belgium), at the Zaventem international airport and at the Maelbeeck metro station, with dozens of deaths and hundreds of injuries.

The Prosecutor's Office maintains that in the subsequent messages Islamophobic comments were spread through the networks "because of their humiliating content and contempt for that group" that, in addition, generated a climate "of clear hostility and violence against the Muslim world."

For these facts, the prosecutor only accuses Melisa Domínguez of a crime of incitement to hatred, for which she faces three years in prison and 3,000 euros. She but she does not sit alone in the dock.

He is accompanied by another eleven people accused by the Spanish Immigration and Refugee Aid Network, which acts as a popular prosecution, in relation to a crime of public disorder and whose defenses request free acquittal. In their statement, three of the accused have denied having participated in the concentration.

The trial started this morning at the Madrid Provincial Court behind closed doors by decision of the president of the Fifth Criminal Section. The hearing will continue tomorrow with the witness test. One of the incriminating evidence was the testimony of the Mosque watchman, the only person who witnessed the attack on the temple. He is unaccounted for.

In the previous issues, Melisa's defense has provided the Chamber with documentation to verify that at the time of the protest there was an ongoing investigation of a jihadist cell based in this mosque and whose members were sentenced in September 2016 to 75 years in prison. .

Photos of Melisa have also been delivered to the Syrian Embassy protesting against jihadism and giving lectures at Hogar Social Madrid on this matter.

Upon her arrival, Melisa has reiterated in statements to the media that in her protest she said "simply the truth" and "says it again today." "Terrorist jihadism is financed from the M-30 Mosque and it is a problem that plagues and continues to plague Europe. One cannot repent," she stressed.

During the interrogation, the public prosecutor has asked why that scene was chosen for the attack; how the protest developed; and how it spread. They have also inquired about whether they uttered discriminatory shouts and whether they launched flares at the temple.

Melisa, who has not responded to the popular accusation, explained to the court that the concentration was "spontaneous" in the face of the outrage over the Brussels attacks that same day.

It was decided, without prior planning, for the Mosque of the M-30 due to the investigation that was underway in the National High Court published by various media and due to "the indications of financing of terrorism through a kind of revolutionary tax to prayer."

In addition, he has detailed that two smoke canisters were placed on each side of the banner displayed in the protest, denying having launched flares inside the enclosure. "I do not rectify even a comma of what I said," he asserted as soon as the oral hearing was concluded.

Before the trial, the lawyer Ignacio Menéndez has pointed out that the elements of the criminal types of which his client is accused are not given, emphasizing that the messages that were launched were not directed against any specific person or against the Muslim religion, but against jihadist terrorism.

The lawyer explained that Hogar Social Madrid is based in the Madrid neighborhood of Tetuán, where the Central Mosque is 200 meters away. "The one on the M-30 was chosen because there was already an investigation," he insisted.

Against this, the prosecutor maintains that as a "direct" consequence of the protest by a group of demonstrators in front of a mosque being published on the social networks of said organization, messages appeared justifying the action with "multiple" Islamophobic comments "because of their humiliating content and contempt for this group" which, moreover, generated a climate "of clear hostility and violence against the Muslim world".

In his indictment, the prosecutor reports that the Social Home Association is of a welfare nature and that its task is focused on helping families "only of Spanish origin who are economically needy."

In her capacity as representative of said organization, on March 22, 2016, the accused placed a banner on the M-30 footbridge together with a group of sympathizers and then "lit flares to give it visibility."

The banner had the legend "Today Brussels, tomorrow Madrid?" And below you could see two images: one of a castle surrounded by a blue circle and next to it a mosque crossed out and framed in a red circle.

Later, the group approached the Mosque located on Salvador de Madariaga street while shouting "Moors out" "Mosques down." His attitude determined that the security guard of that place quickly closed the main access door to avoid confrontation with the people who were inside.

That same day, "the first images of the action carried out a moment ago against Islamic terrorism in the M-30 Mosque in Madrid, a mosque that finances the Islamic State, Mosques outside of Spain".

This publication gave rise to 434 comments and was shared 2,197 times. A day later, the leader of the group made a statement on the La Sexta network in which she vindicated and justified the action and on March 24 the video was published on YouTube in front of the M-30 mosque.
