The interim president of the CGPJ asks to work for a Justice that lives up to what society demands

The interim president of the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ), Rafael Mozo, pointed out this Tuesday that trust in Justice on the part of citizens is the best indicator of its quality, for which reason he has insisted that work must be done for offer a public service that lives up to what society demands.

During his speech at the award ceremony of the X Justice Quality Awards, he argued that for this reason, Justice Administration professionals must work to achieve Justice "closer to citizens", more understandable and " recognizable as one's own."

Mozo has stressed that these awards represent recognition of an exemplary public service and the active willingness to improve shown by the winners, members of a group that works "discreetly and quietly" but "by and for the citizens, aware of their duty and its important mission as a public service".

For his part, the president of the jury and member of the CGPJ, Gerardo Martínez Tristán, thanked the "public service vocation" of the winners and, in the case of the three regional governments, highlighted the importance of their understanding that covering the needs of Justice translates into a benefit for citizens.

In this edition, the prizes in the 'Most Efficient Justice' modality have gone to the Third Section of the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community for its project 'Professional Ethics and Efficient Justice' and in the Penal Enforcement and Restorative Justice Service of the General Directorate of Justice of the Government of Navarra for its project 'Protocol for collaboration in matters of mental health care and framework protocol for restorative justice in Navarra'.

The awards for the 'Most Transparent Justice' have been awarded ex aequo to the Contentious-Administrative area of ​​the Technical Office of the Supreme Court for its project 'Preparation and dissemination of case law notebooks and bulletins' and to the Office of the Jury of the Provincial Court of Alicante for his project 'Preliminary appearances for possible conformity in the field of the Jury Court'.

Finally, in the category of 'Most accessible Justice', the Examining Court number 3 of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria received awards for its project 'Pilot development of a Court for Violence against Children and Adolescents' and, ex aequo, the Department of Equality, Justice and Social Policies of the Basque Government for its project 'Accompaniment program for victims of gender violence in the judicial sphere: Zurekin' and the Vice-Ministry of Justice and victims of the Community of Madrid for its project 'Comprehensive program care for children in judicial offices'.
