The Balearic Court lifts the precautionary measures to the only two defendants in the Cursach case

PALMA, 1 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Court of the Cursach case has issued an order this Thursday ordering the lifting of the precautionary measures for the only two defendants in the case, the local police officers Gabriel Mayol and Josep Mayans.

It should be remembered that all the parties withdrew their accusation against the vast majority of defendants, including the businessman Bartolomé Cursach and the general director of the Cursach Group, Tolo Sbert, who have been acquitted. Thus, the only accusation that was sustained was that of the lawyer for the private prosecution of Sa Trobada, who is asking for two years in prison for crimes of coercion against the two agents. The trial was seen this Wednesday for sentencing.

In this sense, the Chamber has understood that precautionary measures should not be maintained on both accused police officers, since there is no 'periculum in mora' or risk of flight, so that the effects, objects or money that have been intervened.

However, the Court has detailed that these measures are only raised with respect to this separate piece of the case, since they cannot rule on the rest.
