The AN returns to the Supreme the case on the alleged espionage of the Government with Pegasus to Torra and Costa

MADRID, 14 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The National Court has agreed to return to the Supreme Court (TS) the case on the alleged wiretapping through the Pegasus spy software to which the former Catalan president Joaquim Torra and the former first vice president of the Parliamentary Table Josep Costa would have been subjected .

In an order dated November 3, to which Europa Press has had access, the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the AN refers the proceedings to the Third Chamber of the Supreme Court to reconsider its competence to hear the appeal filed by Torra and Costa, precisely, before the High Court.

It was last May when both filed an appeal before the Supreme Court for the protection of fundamental rights against the alleged intervention, listening, theft, collection, treatment, use, dissemination and/or storage of the information and communications of the appellants by part of the Government of Spain and the General Administration of the State.

In his opinion, the jurisdiction of this case fell to the Supreme because they considered that the alleged illicit treatment of their personal data by the President of the Government and by the Executive should be studied in the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the high court.

However, the magistrates of the Supreme Court agreed with the allegations made by the State Attorney in that, since the control action is attributed to the Secretary of State, director of the National Intelligence Center (CNI), the competence to deal with the case was of the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the National High Court.
