The 22 migrants who fled from a plane in Palma for the reform of the crime of sedition are released

PALMA, 17 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Provincial Court of the Balearic Islands has ordered the release of the 22 migrants who fled from a plane in Palma in November 2021 due to the reform of the crime of sedition, as confirmed by judicial sources on Tuesday.

Therefore, according to the recent pronouncements of the Supreme Court, the facts do not fit the crime of public disorder, so the procedure would continue for the crimes of coercion.

However, the precautionary measure of passport withdrawal and prohibition to leave the island has been applied to the individuals, at the same time that they have been requested to enter a Center for the Internment of Foreigners (CIE) for their subsequent expulsion.

It should be remembered that the Public Prosecutor's Office requested five years in prison for each of the migrants who fled after forcing a landing at the Son Sant Joan airport, whose trial will be held this year.

In detail, the passengers fled the plane that was on the Casablanca-Istanbul route after an alleged medical emergency, which was faked.
