Justice lawyers open to a new meeting tomorrow and ask the minister for her presence to unblock the strike

MADRID, 19 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The representatives of the Lawyers of the Administration of Justice (LAJ) have shown themselves willing to meet tomorrow to unblock the indefinite strike that they have maintained since last January 24 and have asked Minister Pilar Llop to join the negotiating table.

According to a statement, the strike committee has been working over the weekend to unravel the "serious conflict" emphasizing that the proposals it raises "in no case" exceed the initial claims, nor those accepted by the Ministry of Justice itself in the month of April.

In line, the committee denounces that, despite the "attacks" they claim to have received from different groups and the statements by the Secretary of State "who came to make an indecent comparison with the scourge of terrorism", they continue to develop formulas that can unlock strike.

Thus, they consider it "necessary" for the Minister of Justice herself to join the negotiating table so that she is "in the first person the one who assumes the direction of the situation and is in charge of solving the biggest problem that Spanish Justice has always had , showing that he really cares about the rights of Spanish citizens".

The lawyers have stressed to public opinion that, "in view of the maneuvers deployed by the Ministry in the first meeting, they will be required to establish clear rules for the operation of the negotiating table, to avoid situations as Kafkaesque as those of the other night, giving a false image to the outside of what was happening inside", they stressed in relation to the last meeting they held since Thursday and which lasted for 15 hours without reaching an agreement.

Finally, the lawyers emphasize that they are "being forced" to remain on strike for a fifth week as a result of "the Ministry's lack of skill" and call on them to assume their responsibilities and resolve the conflict that is reaching "unsuspected limits."
