Zelensky urges Ukrainians to provide "real information" to residents of Russian-occupied areas

MADRID, 19 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenski, has urged the citizens of the country on Monday to provide "real information" to those who are in the territories occupied by Russia but with whom contact is still maintained, alleging that the Russian troops they would be subjecting them to "intimidation and propaganda".

Zelenski has assured that Russia keeps the majority of the Ukrainian inhabitants of the occupied territories in an "information vacuum", which is why he has asked the Ukrainians for "help" to spread "the truth".

"Russia keeps most of them in an information vacuum. Every day it throws new lies about Ukraine and our actions into the occupied territories. But despite the propaganda and intimidation, people not only do not forget about Ukraine, but also shows what he really thinks and what he wants," the Ukrainian president said in his daily message to the country's population.

"I ask all of you who have contacts and opportunities for this: bring real information to the occupied territory, support our people (...), our people must hear about Ukraine from the Ukrainians," added Zelensky, who assured that Ukraine never forgets the residents of occupied areas.

On the other hand, the Ukrainian president has detailed that the country's Armed Forces have managed to inflict "significant logistical losses on the occupiers", and has maintained that "it is increasingly difficult for the Russian Army to maintain positions in the captured territory".

In this sense, Zelenski has stressed that, "step by step", Ukraine would be "disrupting" the supply of the occupiers and "neutralizing" the collaborators.

He has also stated that the Ukrainian flag will be in all the cities and towns of the country, and has stressed that "the only question" is when. However, he also recalled that Russia "can still destroy life in Ukraine."

"Don't forget to provide information and emotional support to our people in the occupied areas. Tell them about Ukraine. The state is doing its part, but we must use all the information power of our society," the Ukrainian president added.
