Zelensky reiterates his gratitude to the EU for the sanctions against Russia and says that the situation in Donbas is "very difficult"

MADRID, 1 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelensky, reiterated late on Tuesday his gratitude for the sixth package of sanctions imposed on Russia by the European Union and assured that "the situation in Donbas continues to be very difficult".

Thus, Zelenski has announced that Ukraine will work "on new restrictions against Russia for this war. As soon as the sixth package begins to work, we will begin to prepare the seventh", he emphasized.

Likewise, Zelensky has said that "Ukraine will never do like Russia, which throws people into the hell of battles just because Moscow wanted to seize something in a few days."

Thus, he explained that "the situation of the front must be evaluated in an integral way. Not by an area, where there is a tougher situation and that attracts more attention, but by the entire front line".

Zelensky reiterated that "the situation in the Donbass direction continues to be very difficult and Severodonetsk, Lisichansk and Kurakhovo are now at the epicenter of the confrontation."

"Given the presence of large-scale chemical production in Severodonetsk, the Russian military's attacks there, including blind aerial bombardments, are simply insane," the Ukrainian president added.

Zelenski has assured that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are having "success" in the direction of Kherson, and in the Kharkov region. "Ukraine is rejecting the pressure of the occupiers in the Zaporizhia region, the key leadership is Huliaipole and Orejov," he said.

The president of Ukraine has requested more heavy weapons and modern artillery for his country. "All those systems that can really hasten Ukraine's victory," he said.

"The full restoration of the territorial integrity of our State is our goal. But we must act carefully, valuing life," he has sentenced.
