Yolanda Díaz strengthens ties with British Labor and they agree on the "failure" of the neoliberal model

MADRID, 27 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The second vice president, Yolanda Díaz, has strengthened ties this Thursday with the British Labor Party and the Trades Union Congress (TUC), when meeting with representatives of both at the headquarters of the Ministry of Labor.

At a press conference, Díaz explained that during the meeting they analyzed the situation in the United Kingdom and agreed that the model deployed by neoliberalism has "failed". Therefore, it has encouraged them to build an "alternative" in defense of workers and rights.

"It is not efficient, it is not economically or socially," added Díaz, referring to the neoliberal economic theses that have led to the resignation of Liz Truss as Prime Minister of the country.

On the other hand, Díaz explained that the union and political delegation of British labor has also been interested in the labor model in Spain, specifically in the "success" of the labor reform that has been done "in nine months what has not been achieved in 37 years of democracy".

"When we went to Europe to start defending the labor reform, the commissioners asked us for this. Today it is possible", added Díaz.

The head of Labor has pointed out that the British trade unionists and deputies "wanted to learn" from the Spanish experience and have agreed to "work together".
