When is the extra summer pay for pensioners charged and how much is it?

MADRID, 24 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -

All contributory pensions are generally paid in 14 installments and have two extra payments per year, one in June and one in November. The Ministry of Social Security has just confirmed that the summer 'extra' is charged with the June payroll, whose payment is on July 1.

Social Security points out that the specific day depends on the bank and that "in many cases it may be a few days before" July 1, as in previous years.

The 9,929,502 pensioners in Spain generally receive 14 payments a year, one for each month together with the two extra, except if their pension is due to an accident at work or professional illness. In that case, the money from the two 'extra' is prorated in the rest of the payments throughout the year.

The amount of the 'extra' summer pay, the same as that of November, is equal to that of the ordinary monthly payment corresponding to said months. In other words, instead of 1,087.48 euros (average monthly payment for pensions in Spain), you will receive 2,174.96 euros.
