UP aspires for Vicky Rosell to enter the CGPJ after her "ordeal" with former judge Alba: "She is our favorite candidate"

He maintains skepticism regarding an agreement with the PP on the Judiciary and sees that ERC in Catalonia is still "tied" to Junts

MADRID, 19 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The president of the United We Can parliamentary group in Congress, Jaume Asens, has recognized that his formation aspires to the current Government delegate against gender violence, Vicky Rosell, being able to be a member of the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) .

In statements to Onda Cero, collected by Europa Press, Asens has not hidden that for the confederal space Rosell is "favorite candidate" to be in the governing body of the judges after the "ordeal" she has suffered with former judge Salvador Alba, who yesterday went to prison.

And it is that the leader of En Comú Podem has pointed out that Rosell had to resign her act of deputy in Congress due to the "lawfare" (English term that refers to the judicial war for political purposes) that Alba conspired against her and that He came to "destroy life", although Rosell finally got the former magistrate to go to jail after being convicted of prevarication and bribery.

"It would deserve to be there (CGPJ) and it is one of our aspirations," he emphasized. Precisely the name of the judge and member of United We Can was one of those that aroused the most rejection in the PP during the previous negotiation.

On the other hand, he has clarified that in the coalition the renewal is not faced with candidates from each of the parties or "concrete chairs", but rather a joint agreement is sought that has the "approval" of both PSOE and United We Can .

Regarding the negotiations with the PP, Asens has admitted that "progress" has been made and that the coalition's minority partner is perfectly informed of the development of the negotiation by the Minister of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños.

In this regard, he explained that the confederal space gives the socialists a margin to try that agreement with the popular ones, a "last cartridge" to achieve an agreement on the Judicial Power that if it were up to them they would not give because "with confidence" that the main opposition party.

From his perspective, the PP follows a "strategy" to continue "buying time" to continue "kidnapping" the CGPJ for almost four years and rejects from "skepticism" that the popular are now an "actor of renewal."

"It seems incompatible to us that the PP wants to reach an agreement now when it has broken them before on this matter, it is terribly disloyal", Asens has deepened to influence, then, that if the negotiation finally breaks, as they think it will happen, " Decisions will have to be made."

Regarding the political situation in Catalonia, the leader of United We Can has expressed the opinion that "everything indicates" that there will be a scenario of budget extension, which would be "frivolous" on the part of the ERC Government because it means giving up the main instrument of the administration to deploy public investments.

Consequently, he has urged the president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonés, to tell people the reality and that he dispenses with trying to approve the regional budgets by "political tactics" before the next elections.

And this in a "contradictory" attitude when the PSC has given Aragonés support to try a budget agreement and with the position of ERC in Congress, which in this legislature has supported the state public accounts. Therefore, he has proclaimed that the Republicans remain "too tied" to Junts despite breaking the regional executive.
