UGT celebrates the approval of the bases of the pact by the Industry and asks to take advantage of the "historic opportunity"

The Federation of Industry, Construction and Agriculture of the UGT (UGT FICA) has celebrated the approval of the basic document of the State Pact for Industry approved yesterday in the High Level forum and has asked the political representatives to take advantage of this "historic opportunity "to carry out a change in the production model focused on industry and the creation of quality employment.

In a statement, UGT FICA has thanked the broad consensus reached at the meeting of the High Level Forum of Spanish Industry, a consultative body of the Ministry of Industry, and has asked the Government, the different parliamentary groups and the autonomous communities, that " keep up with the times."

"We need a single national industrial strategy, in solidarity and that promotes industrial territorial cohesion, and not 17 different strategies that disperse efforts and frustrate the consensus reached", they have pointed out from UGT FICA.

That is why the federation has demanded the involvement of both the parliamentary groups as a whole and the governments of the Autonomous Communities so that industrial policy is truly state policy and is not exposed to political fluctuations and electoral interests.

"It is urgent to address as soon as possible a national strategy for industrial promotion agreed with the social agents on the horizon of 2030, as well as a new Industry Law that is not subject to political fluctuations and that establishes the bases for organizing our industry, as well as as the coordination criteria between the different Public Administrations", they concluded.
