The US promises to raise assistance to Ukraine to an "unprecedented" level

MADRID, 6 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The United States ambassador in kyiv, Bridget Brink, has assured that the Administration of the president, Joe Biden, will raise assistance to Ukraine to an "unprecedented" level to guarantee its defensive capabilities in the war against Russia.

This was confirmed by Brink herself in a publication on her Twitter social network profile after holding a meeting with Ukraine's Defense Minister, Oleksei Reznikov.

"As I told Reznikov, Ukraine has inspired the world with its courage and ingenuity," said the ambassador, who assured that Washington will do "everything possible to strengthen Ukraine on the battlefield."

Already last week, President Biden announced the dispatch of new Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS) to Ukrainian forces to deal with the Russian invasion and hit "key targets."

Biden has stressed that by sending these missiles, Washington is not encouraging Ukraine to attack beyond its borders towards Russia. "We do not seek a war between NATO and Russia. As much as I disagree with Russian President Vladimir Putin and consider his actions an outrage, the United States will not seek to bring about his removal from office in Moscow," he stressed.

Brink, recently appointed as the new US representative in Ukraine, announced last Monday on her social networks that she was already at the US Embassy in kyiv.

After being nominated for the post by Biden in April, the US Senate later confirmed Brink as ambassador to Ukraine in a unanimous vote.
