The US announces a new arms shipment to Ukraine of 725 million dollars after the "brutal" Russian attacks

The United States Government has announced a new military aid package to Ukraine valued at 725 million dollars, in a new commitment with which the Joe Biden Administration responds to the "brutal missile attacks on civilians" launched by Russia in the last days.

Washington wants to help the Ukrainians to "protect their country", for which the Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, has authorized this shipment, coming from the arsenal of the US Department of Defense. With this new aid, military assistance to Ukraine now exceeds 18,000 million dollars since Biden's arrival in the White House.

"We will remain on the side of the people of Ukraine as they defend their freedom and independence with extraordinary courage and inexhaustible determination," said Blinken, who has defended a commitment that now includes anti-aircraft defense systems, as President Volodomir Zelenski has called for.

The Ukrainian president has been "especially grateful" on Twitter for the new commitment and has valued the delivery of the "necessary" material for the HIMARS system, a type of mobile missile launcher. "A wonderful gift for Defenders Day", which was commemorated on Friday, he has emphasized.
