The turnover of companies rises 29.9% in June and chains 16 months of increases

The turnover of companies increased by 29.9% in June compared to the same month of 2021, moderating the rise registered the previous month by 3.8 points, according to the Business Turnover Index (ICNE) published this Monday by the National Statistics Institute (INE).

With this rebound, the sales of companies have chained 16 consecutive months of year-on-year increases after having spent a negative year due to the impact of Covid.

All sectors presented positive interannual rates in June, especially energy and water supply, which increased its sales by 90%, followed by industry, which increased its turnover by 31.7% compared to the same month last year. For their part, services and commerce sold 27.5% and 21.4% more than in June 2021, respectively.

Adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects, company turnover increased by 30.5% in June, a rate one point lower than that of May.

The largest increases in the corrected series were also for energy and water supply (86.4%) and industry (33.1%), followed by services (28.3%) and commerce (21.4%). ).

UP 1.5% IN THE MONTH

In monthly values ​​and within the corrected series, business turnover registered an increase of 1.5% in June, four tenths more than in May.

Three sectors of the four analyzed by the INE presented positive monthly rates in June: industry, which increased its turnover in the month by 2.2%; the supply of energy and water (2%), and services, which sold 1.6% more than in May.

By contrast, trade cut its turnover by 2.1% in June compared to the previous month.
