The TC suspends the plenary session and postpones the debate on the appeal of the PP to next Monday

The president agrees to the request of the five progressive magistrates given the "complexity" and "relevance" of the matter

The president of the Constitutional Court (TC), Pedro González-Trevijano, has agreed -- at the request of the five progressive magistrates -- to continue next Monday with the debate that began in the extraordinary plenary session this Thursday to decide on the appeal that has presented the PP to stop the parliamentary process of the reform of the court itself.

The magistrates Juan Antonio Xiol, Cándido Conde-Pumpido, María Luisa Balaguer, Inmaculada Montalbán and Ramón Sáez have requested in a letter to the president of the TC that he postpone the plenary session until Monday to give them "the indispensable time" to carry out a "complete study "from the appeal of the PP and from the writings introduced in the last hours by PSOE, Unidas Podemos and Vox.

The signatories have explained that, given "the complexity of the issue raised by the appeal and the relevance of the decision", in the current situation it is not possible for them to participate in the deliberation and vote.

González-Trevijano has agreed to what was raised by these five magistrates agreeing that the extraordinary plenary session this Thursday will resume at 10:00 a.m. next Monday.
