The Supreme Court has sentenced the deputy of the CUP in the Parliament of Catalonia Eulàlia Reguant to a fine of 13,500 euros for serious disobedience to the authority by refusing to answer the questions of the popular accusation of Vox during the trial of the process, where appearing as a witness in February 2019.

In a sentence, collected by Europa Press, the magistrates have concluded that "the attitude of the accused in refusing to comply with the court's mandate has been evident and unequivocal, clear and patent".

The court has underlined that Reguant "clearly crossed the limits of his ideological freedom and conscience, and was not facing a lawful exercise of freedom of expression, clearly limited in this case to guarantee the authority and impartiality of the judiciary over the that society must have a clear confidence, being necessary to guarantee it to set limits, witnesses having to abide by the legitimate orders given by the courts".

Regarding the sentence to be imposed, the Supreme Court has explained that there are no reasons to opt for the most serious legally prescribed in this case, which was prison.
