The supplement for early retirees with long contribution careers reaches almost 99,000 pensioners

MADRID, 5 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

A total of 98,986 pensioners have recognized the new complement in their pension recognized in the last reform of the system for people who were forced to retire early and who, despite having long contribution careers, experienced a cut in their pension.

This is recognized by the Government in a response registered in the Congress of Deputies and collected by Europa Press, to the PDeCAT deputy Genís Boadella, who asked about the number of official recognitions made of this complement.

As Boadella recalled, the latest reform of the pension system contemplates a provision to automatically recognize within three months a supplement for those people who retired early between 2002 and 2021 in certain cases of long contribution periods.

Specifically, those who prove contribution careers of more than 44 years and 6 months or for pensioners who do not reach 900 euros and have careers of 40 years, provided that they have retired involuntarily up to four years before the legal age, or voluntarily before it.

The supplement represents the difference between the recognized pension, reduced with the penalties approved in the 2013 reform, and the reduction coefficients contemplated in the last pension reform.

According to the Government, the supplement has been applied since March 1, having launched a centralized process for its ex officio recognition, as provided for in the provision.

Once carried out, the number of pensions with the recognized supplement is 98,986 benefits, with 97,658 recognized ex officio and 1,328 processed manually by the provincial directorates in those cases in which it has not been possible ex officio due to the complexity of the pension.
