The sports associations support Aganzo in his complaint against Rubiales for alleged espionage

MADRID, 10 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Associations of Basketball Players (AJUB), Handball Players, AMBM and AJBM, Professional Cyclists (ACP) and Golf Professionals of Spain (PGA) have expressed their solidarity and have supported the president of AFE, David Aganzo, in their complaint to the president of the RFEF, Luis Rubiales, for alleged espionage that they consider "extremely serious".

In a statement, AFE reported that this Thursday these associations met to analyze the "seriousness of certain actions allegedly directed" by Luis Rubiales aimed at "coercing and seriously damaging" the soccer players' union and its president, David Aganzo.

After this meeting, these associations have agreed to send a letter to the Higher Sports Council (CSD) to request its protection and denounce "any type of interference" in the daily activity of athletes' unions such as those that "allegedly" have "directed" Louis Rubiales.

"Actions that would have the clear intention of influencing the normal and independent functioning of AFE. Interference that would seek to pressure and coerce the soccer players' union, clearly undermine its legitimate right to independence as a representative of thousands of workers," says the statement. note.

On the other hand, these sports associations denounced any "maneuver" such as the one that Luis Rubiales allegedly carried out when hiring the services of a detective agency to spy on David Aganzo, according to 'El Confidencial'. "A fact that could be considered as a violation of the privacy of the president of AFE", he pointed out.

In addition, the associations recalled the right to confidentiality of the meetings held by unions and employers, and that the Data Protection Agency (AEPD) imposed a fine of 200,000 euros on the RFEF for filtering audios of a meeting held in April 2020 attended by David Aganzo.
