The second day of the Ryanair TCP strike affects 15 flights from eight Spanish airports

MADRID, 25 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The second day of strike by Ryanair cabin crew (TCP) is causing delays in 15 flights from eight Spanish airports early in the morning, according to union sources.

The USO and Sitcpla unions called a strike for cabin crew (TCP) for June 24, 25, 26 and 30 and July 1 and 2, at the airline's ten bases in Spain -- Madrid, Malaga , Seville, Alicante, Valencia, Barcelona, Girona, Santiago de Compostela, Ibiza and Palma de Mallorca--.

Thus, until 10:00 there have been 15 delayed flights, both arrivals and departures, while the airports of Girona and Ibiza have not been affected.

USO expects this situation to worsen throughout the day and tomorrow, since "Ryanair's system of maximum benefit, of leaving the minimum necessary time between flights, will cause chain delays."

In addition, the union has explained that the delays are due, above all, to planes that have not arrived from their base of origin and cannot leave on time, to poorly notified minimum services or to personnel who, due to delays, would spend hours Of flight.

In this sense, the general secretary of USO-Ryanair, Lidia Arasanz, has denounced that "the airline is trying to call people on their breaks or even sick to cover badly notified flights that the crew refuse to do if they are not listed in your letter of minimum services".

"They are already citing workers who yesterday refused to perform more services than those that were included in their notifications or who, due to errors in their computer program, and that is registered, did not receive the citation and, obviously, they did not attend. Arasanz added.

The person in charge of USO trusts that the National High Court will pronounce favorably on Monday to defend their right to strike", after USO and Sitcpla announced yesterday the request for very precautionary measures to prevent the exercise of the right to strike of the TCP Ryanair before the calls scheduled for June 30 and July 1 and 2.

In addition, Arasanz has accused the airline of "ignoring labor legislation in Spain" and has also lamented that "workers can be fired if we fail to comply, but the company is rewarded with absolute protection for all its outrages."

"We demand that all the competent governments, from Transport and Labor to the autonomous communities, stop looking the other way with this company and make it comply with the law," he added.
