The PSOE will study the amendments of other groups to the sedition reform, which could include embezzlement reform

He emphasizes that it has been justice that has said that Griñán has not enriched himself personally

MADRID, 14 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Minister of Education and Spokesperson of the PSOE, Pilar Alegría, has assured today that the Socialist Group will study the amendments that come from other groups to the sedition reform. These may include embezzlement reform. However, she has not clarified if her party will support them. That yes, she has indicated that the president's promise was the modification of the crime of sedition and is already being fulfilled with the bill presented in Parliament by the Socialist Group and United We Can.

Pilar Alegría has thus responded to the four questions that the informants have asked her during the press conference that has taken place at the socialist headquarters on Ferraz street.

"We had a commitment from the Legislature, which was to change the crime of sedition and standardize it with the Penal Codes of the most consolidated European democracies, we have transferred it through a law proposal," said the socialist spokeswoman when asked if the PSOE It will study the amendments that propose lowering the embezzlement penalties for those who have not enriched themselves and if they have also analyzed other European Penal Codes in this regard.

The minister has specified that now comes the parliamentary processing of this bill and it is the parliamentary groups that have to present the amendments they deem appropriate. However, she added that the Socialist Group will study the amendments that may come from other parliamentary groups.

And this has been the same answer to the four questions that Pilar Alegría has received about whether the PSOE is willing to support the amendments that are presented to clarify the penalties for embezzlement for those convicted of this crime who have not carried out personal enrichment.

"They will understand that I do not express myself about declarations and proposals that we have not yet been able to see," argued the socialist spokeswoman, reiterating that each political party will have to know the purpose of these amendments. In the case of the PSOE, she has indicated that they presented the bill "with the clear objective of reforming the crime of sedition."

What he did want to make clear is that the former president of the Andalusian Government, José Antonio Griñán, has not personally enriched himself. "It is not that the PSOE has determined it, but that it has been the justice, or Griñán, or any leader of the PSOE of Andalusia", he has riveted.

Regarding the summons from the Court to Griñán and the rest of those sentenced to execute the disqualification sentence, Pilar Alegría has made it clear that she has the "maximum respect for judicial steps that are taking."

The socialist spokeswoman has also referred to the announcement made today by the Minister of Industry to present herself as a candidate for mayor of Madrid, stating that in the absence of the previous primary process, she has stated that she will continue to lead the Ministry "until spring" . "Therefore, the calendar would be the one transferred by Minister Maroto herself," she stressed.

And as for the possibility of a government crisis due to the possible candidacy of the Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, for the municipal elections, Alegría has been clear: "If there were a change of government tomorrow, the only one that can answer right now is in a meeting at the G-20".

Yesterday's demonstration in Madrid in defense of public health has served the socialist spokesperson to charge against the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, and the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo.

After pointing out that yesterday's protest brought together more than 200,000 people from the entire community, with a different ideology, to ask for quality public health, he reproached Ayuso for his response being "insult and contempt". In her opinion, the Madrid president does not have a "glimmer of humility" despite being the main person in charge of Madrid's health.

Along these lines, he has accused Ayuso of insulting the President of the Government, of blaming the doctors and nurses and of trying to remove Feijóo's position.

The socialist spokeswoman has also had reproaches for the president of the Popular Party, who during his appearance today has warned that pardoning the embezzlement would be "the last straw" and has announced a proposal to maintain the crime of sedition.

In this regard, the socialist leader has indicated that "in terms of coexistence and territorial respect" she sees nothing new in the PP. "What's more, I would dare to tell them that they feel more comfortable poisoning coexistence in our country", he exclaimed while asking if "they have really forgotten what happened in 2017", after two referendums and a declaration of independence.

"Coexistence has no cost, what has a cost is to continue confronting territories, to continue playing confrontation and division," he exclaimed.
