The PSOE urges Feijóo to correct Cuca Gamarra for not condemning the assault on the Brazilian Congress: "Not everything goes"

MADRID, 8 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The PSOE spokesperson and Minister of Education and Vocational Training Pilar Alegría has urged the leader of the Popular Party Alberto Núñez Feijóo to correct the general secretary of the 'popular' formation Cuca Gamarra for not condemning the assault on the Brazilian Congress by hundreds of supporters of former President Jair Bolsonaro assuring that it is a "too dangerous" message.

In a message posted on Twitter, Gamarra has reproached Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez for his support for his Brazilian counterpart Lula da Silva and has assured that these actions in Spain would be "simply a public disorder" referring to the reform of the Penal Code that eliminates the crime of sedition.

"Mr. @NunezFeijoo, here we can only condemn the incidents against democracy in Brazil. You must correct Mrs. Gamarra immediately. It is too dangerous. Not everything goes," Alegría wrote in a message on the aforementioned social network.

For his part, Feijóo has expressed his support for the "Brazilian people" and has called for the "immediate reestablishment of constitutional order" without giving in to "populism" after this Sunday hundreds of Bolsonaro sympathizers have overcome police barriers and invaded the headquarters of the Brazilian Congress, the presidential palace, the Planalto Palace, and the headquarters of the Federal Supreme Court in Brasilia in the framework of a demonstration against Lula da Silva.

Minutes later, Gamarra has indicated in another publication that "the coup has no place anywhere" and has recalled how "fragile democracies are also and the obligation to strengthen and protect them."
