The PSOE stresses that Sánchez's commitment was to reform sedition and reduces to "hypothesis" changing embezzlement

They assure that they listen to the criticism of the socialist barons about the modification of this criminal type

MADRID, 21 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Minister for Education and Vocational Training and spokesperson for the PSOE Executive, Pilar Alegría, stressed that the commitment of the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, was to reform the crime of sedition, when asked about possible changes in the criminal offense of embezzlement.

Thus, he has indicated that he cannot comment on this point because they are "hypotheses" while stressing that the president's commitment is included in the bill presented by the groups that make up the coalition government --PSOE and Unidas Podemos-- , which in fact eliminates the crime of sedition and replaces it with one of aggravated public disorder.

In this sense, he has avoided responding to the amendments presented by other groups to this legislative initiative on "any other issue", as he has indicated. "You will understand that I do not manifest myself, I cannot comment on hypotheses," she has pointed out.

The socialist spokeswoman has expressed herself in this way despite the fact that last week, the ERC spokesman in Congress, Gabriel Rufián, stated that negotiations with the PSOE were continuing to retouch the crime of embezzlement.

Regarding the criticisms of various socialist barons about the possibility of modifying this criminal offense -- which together with sedition were those used to condemn the Catalan independence leaders --, sources from the PSOE leadership indicate that they listen to them.
