The president of Galicia suggests that Sánchez rewards some CCAAs with European funds for electoral expectations

MADRID, 14 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The president of Galicia, Alfonso Rueda, has suggested this Tuesday that the head of the Executive, Pedro Sánchez, has decided to execute direct attributions of European funds in projects of some autonomous communities due to electoral expectations in these territories, such as the Valencian Community or Catalonia.

He said it during his speech at an informative breakfast of 'El Debate', where he referred to the European funds charging the central government for the "bureaucratic tangle" that is causing the delay in Galician projects such as Altri's, according to saying.

And in this context, Rueda has criticized that the Government has decided to give direct transfers to communities such as the Valencian Community in the face of the "anger" of Volkswagen, insinuating that these attributions have been made for an electoral sense.

Regarding Altri, the president of Galicia wanted to thank them from this rostrum in Madrid for their "patience" and has asked them "not to lose hope", although he has demanded more participation from the central government by the communities in the management of these funds Europeans.

Rueda has also spoken about the infrastructures in Galicia, with special emphasis on the Atlantic Corridor and the extension of the AVE to more cities than Ourense. From here, he has estimated at 70% the increase in travelers who have decided to come to the region since the arrival of high speed.

Regarding the Atlantic Corridor, the Galician president commented on the meeting he held a few weeks ago with his counterparts from Castilla y León and Asturias to promote this network, highlighting the collaboration between the different administrations so that, for now, the Government Central has decided to create a Commissioner half an hour after they were meeting.

Another of the issues that he has touched on has been the endorsement of the Supreme Court for the continuity of the Ence plant in Pontevedra, criticizing the "porfio" of the central government and vindicating its law to protect the coast, despite the fact that the Secretary of State for Environment will assure "that it is equivalent to a unilateral declaration of independence".

On the other hand, Rueda has criticized the "electoral tourism" of ministers and central government officials who come to Galicia, "always without notifying anyone from the Xunta", to say that "Alberto Núñez Feijóo has no management experience".

"They have not managed to convince us", the president of Galicia has ironized, who has once again said in an informative forum in Madrid that the central government intends to attack Galicia to harm Feijóo.

On the electoral expectations for the next municipal elections in Galicia, Rueda foresees a "significant rise" of the PP in many localities, beyond not losing any mayoralty that they already have.

Of course, he has picked up the gauntlet of the proposal made a few weeks ago by Feijóo to let the list with the most votes in the municipal elections govern, assuring that "it is a bit unfair" that, despite having won the elections, the situation can occur that some parties end up governing in coalition that will hardly obtain a single councilor.
