The PP takes an initiative to the Senate to force the Government to review the law of 'only yes is yes'

MADRID, 16 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Popular Party has presented a motion in the Senate, which will be seen in plenary session next week, to force the Government to "immediately review" the Law on Sexual Freedom, known as Law of 'only yes is yes', after several courts have lowered the sentences imposed on several convicted of sexual crimes.

This was announced by the spokesman for the Popular Group in the Upper House, Javier Maroto, at a press conference in which he explained that this initiative will be addressed next week.

The Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, opted this Tuesday to "study" this law after the revisions of sentences, while the Ministry of Equality ruled out reviewing this norm, since they understood that it was not a problem.

In this context, the Popular Party has presented this motion that will force next week all the groups to position themselves --United Podemos does not have representation in the Senate-- on whether or not they think this 'only if it is' law should be reviewed yes' that was approved in the month of September.
