The PP says that it will continue in the national headquarters of Genoa because the buildings "are not to blame for anything"

MADRID, 30 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The general coordinator of the PP, Elías Bendodo, has assured this Monday that the party has "the intention" to continue working from its national headquarters in Genoa and has defended that the buildings "are not to blame for anything", alluding to corruption.

"The buildings are not to blame for anything and the intention is to continue here," Bendodo said at a press conference, where he also pointed out that "the headquarters is owned by its members."

The president of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, no longer contemplated in April the sale of the headquarters located in Génova Street in Madrid, after his predecessor, Pablo Casado, announced that the formation would leave the historic building to break with the past and the corruption.

He did it just after learning of the PP debacle in the Catalan elections and the same week that the trial for the alleged payment of the reforms of the headquarters with black money began in the National Court. In October, the National Court sentenced former treasurer Luis Bárcenas to two years in prison and the PP as civilly liable for paying for the works in Genoa with 'box B'.
