The PP requests the appearance of Raquel Sánchez in Congress for the train trapped in the Bejís fire

MADRID, 17 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The PP has requested the urgent appearance in Congress of the Minister of Transport, Raquel Sánchez, to report the incidents that occurred on the Renfe train between Valencia and Zaragoza that had to interrupt its march when it encountered the fire in Bejís (Castellón) , an episode that caused several serious injuries.

"It is intolerable frivolity that the minister has not given any explanation after 24 hours of the panic episode experienced on the Valencia-Zaragoza train," the PP spokesman for Transport, Andrés Lorite, wrote on his Twitter account. "Why Why wasn't circulation cut off because of the Bejís fire? Why wasn't there an inspector on board?"

The request to appear, which will have to be approved by the Permanent Delegation of Congress, has been announced by the PP deputy for Alicante and deputy spokesperson for the Popular Group, Macarena Montesinos de Miguel, in a message on Twitter in which she has taken the opportunity to convey their solidarity with those affected and support for the troops working against the fires.

The message is accompanied by a video of the statements by the PP regional deputy Miguel Barrachina Ros, in which he asks "how is a train sent from Valencia to a municipality evacuated two hours earlier due to a serious fire?"

"How is it possible that the municipality of Toras is evicted at four in the afternoon and later a train leaves Valencia in the direction of Torás and arrives two and a half hours later at the burned down municipality and evacuated by the Generalitat de Torás? wonder if the level of coordination that exists between the different administrations is adequate", Barrachina denounced.

The PP has also demanded the appearance in the Senate of the head of Transport so that she can give the pertinent explanations of "why the order was not given to suspend the traffic of the convoy."

The incident resulted in three serious injuries due to burns and between 8 and 10 minor injuries when leaving the wagons when the convoy stopped its march between Masadas Blancas and Barracas on Tuesday to return to Caudiel due to the proximity of the Bejís fire.
