The PP points to the Minister of Transport for the case of the trains despite the resignations and will continue to ask for explanations

MADRID, 20 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The national leadership of the PP has pointed this Monday to the Minister of Transport, Raquel Sánchez, as responsible for the problem with the trains in Asturias and Cantabria, despite the resignations of the president of Renfe and the Secretary of State for Transport, and has announced that He will continue to ask for explanations in Parliament, according to what sources from the party leadership have assured Europa Press.

"In how many countries around us does a minister who buys trains that do not fit through the tunnels survive? In none," sources from Feijóo's team have pointed out after learning of the resignation of the current president of Renfe, Isaías Táboas, and the secretary of State of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Isabel Pardo de Vera.

The PP has advanced its intention to continue asking for explanations in Parliament for this case, since they want to know how much "this is going to cost" to the Spaniards and "since when did they know it", according to the same sources added.

In 'Genoa' they have also stressed that the Government wanted the headline today to be its announcement of 2,500 million in scholarships that will be approved by the Council of Ministers but "what has transpired are the resignations in Renfe and in the Secretary of State for Transport", sources from the PP leadership have indicated.

On February 7, the general secretary of the PP and spokesperson in Congress, Cuca Gamarra, requested the appearance of the Minister of Transport in the Lower House for the problem of trains that did not enter the tunnels.

And a few days ago, in an act in Seville, the leader of the PP stressed that there are trains "that do not go where they have to go, trains that do not take the track that they have to take and trains that do not fit in the tunnels". According to what he said then, the government has entered a situation of "collapse" and "everything goes wrong."
