The PP launches into the campaign: on Wednesday it will start with the program and on Friday the Electoral Committee ratifies candidates

MADRID, 16 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The national PP led by Alberto Núñez Feijóo has already fully immersed itself in the electoral pre-campaign for the regional and municipal elections on May 28, and this week it has set two important appointments: one to begin drafting the electoral program for those elections and another to ratify the candidates for the provincial capitals.

Specifically, on Wednesday the PP campaign manager, Elías Bendodo, the former Minister of Public Works, Iñigo de la Serna, and Senator Carmen Fúñez, will meet with their teams to begin working on drafting the electoral program, which will be " very in contact with the street" so that it is not "a wet paper" but that it collects solutions for "the real problems that the Spanish have.

"It is an electoral program that will actively count on the participation of civil society," said the spokesman for the PP campaign committee, Borja Sémper, who stressed that the party wants people with " different sensitivities" to "make it more real and close" to all citizens.

On Friday, the PP will meet the National Electoral Committee chaired by Galician Diego Calvo --second vice president of the Government of the Xunta-- to give the green light to the candidates from the provincial capitals. Two days later, Alberto Núñez Feijóo will present them at a public event that will take place in Madrid and a photo will be taken with all of them.

In a press conference at the PP headquarters, the spokesman for the PP campaign committee, Borja Sémper, expressed his satisfaction with the event held on Saturday in Zaragoza to present their candidates for the regional elections, where, according to what he said, a PP "with experience, with ideas and with a project" was seen.

Sémper has affirmed that the PP comes out in these elections "for the victory in each city council and in each autonomous community". In his opinion, the change that "begins" in the May elections will be "force to face the general elections" at the end of the year.

In addition, he has indicated that the PP of Navarra will meet this Tuesday with the deputies Sergio Sayas and Carlos Adanero at the headquarters of the 'populares' in this region to "analyze their possible integration into the Popular Party".

Sémper has indicated that the objective is "to unite the center-right vote but also to ensure that those people who do not feel comfortable and are concerned about the future of Navarra can visualize an alternative in the Popular Party".

The spokesperson for the PP campaign committee has stressed that they are "an open party, which is committed to talent, management experience and a vocation for public service to unite the center-right and add people who also want a better government in their community autonomous". In his understanding, Spain needs to "turn the page and start a new stage of change, enthusiasm and optimism."

When asked if the PP continues to have the door open for Inés Arrimadas and Begoña Villacís, Sémper has insisted that the PP "respects" the internal process carried out by Cs and has added that the PP project is "capable of bringing together leaders of various sensibilities, also former leaders or leaders of Cs, but also leaders or former leaders of the PSOE who feel belittled or do not share the drift of Sánchez and Podemos".

At this point, Sémper has stressed that the vote "is not owned by anyone" or "captive" but is "free", ensuring that this is something that all those who are dedicated to politics should know and take into account.
