The PP criticizes that Montero "declines" to see Bravo to talk about the anti-crisis decree and refers him to the Socialist Group

Feijóo has advanced that they would vote 'yes' to that decree in Congress if the Government extends the VAT reduction to meat, fish and preserves

The deputy secretary of Economy of the PP, Juan Bravo, contacted Minister María Jesús Montero this Wednesday to negotiate the economic decree that the Plenary Session of Congress must validate next week, but the head of the Treasury "declined" the meeting and sent the Group Socialist, as sources from the formation have indicated to Europa Press, who have criticized this attitude of the Executive.

The PP is willing to support the so-called anti-crisis decree in the event that the Pedro Sánchez Executive extends the proposed VAT reduction to other key foods in the shopping basket, such as meat, fish and preserves.

This was recently announced by the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, who confirmed that the Popular Group will vote in favor of the decree in Congress if the Government accepts the proposal of its formation to extend the VAT reduction to meat, fish and preserves. "They have the opportunity to show that the interests of the citizens concern them more than their ego and their arrogance," he said a week ago.

However, the Government does not contemplate extending this VAT reduction to foods such as meat and fish. The Minister of Finance has indicated that the Executive has selected the foods that are considered basic and has called on the PP to vote in favor if they consider that they include measures previously proposed by them. "If they are the parents of the decree, why don't they vote for it," she ironically pointed out to the media a couple of weeks ago from Seville.

Specifically, the decree approved by the Council of Ministers includes abolishing the 4% VAT for six months, which is applied to all essential foods, including bread or milk, and reducing the VAT from 10% to 5%. oil and pasta, a measure with which it intends to face the impact of the war in Ukraine and the rise in inflation.

With the aim of negotiating this decree, the PP's deputy secretary of the Economy contacted the Minister of Finance on Wednesday to request a meeting and discuss the party's position regarding the economic decree, which the Government intends to validate next week in plenary session. congressional.

However, the PP has criticized that the head of the Treasury has "declined" the proposal to hold that meeting and has referred the leaders of the PSOE in the Congress of Deputies to discuss this matter.

The PP has shown its "surprise" at the government's decision and has recalled that it negotiated other economic texts with minority groups through non-deputy ministers (Félix Bolaños), criticizing that they do not "find time" to speak with the first opposition party "and summon them to speak with the Socialist Group, according to party sources.

"If the minister does not find an opportunity to speak with Juan Bravo despite the fact that the will is good, this does not result in good relations between parties," the same sources have assured Europa Press.
