The PP believes "a lack of respect" that "many" affected by the La Palma volcano do not yet have a home

MADRID, 16 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The PP has described this Tuesday as "lack of respect" on the part of the Government that "many" of those affected by the La Palma volcano have not yet recovered their homes and are staying in hotels, after the visit of the president, Pedro Sánchez , to the island.

At a press conference, the Deputy Secretary for Regional and Local Coordination of the PP, Pedro Rollán, recalled that Sánchez has visited La Palma ten times and his ministers a total of 35 and has described as "shocking" that there are still neighbors who, having lost their home and having no chance to get it back, remain housed in hotels.

Along these lines, he pointed out that the main sources of employment and wealth in La Palma are agriculture and tourism, and the fact that families occupy hotel rooms reduces the latter. "It makes it unfeasible for tourists to visit La Palma in sufficient numbers," he stressed.

Likewise, he has criticized the "bureaucracy" that hampers the arrival of aid and has stressed that eleven months have passed since the eruption. "One hundred days can be granted to reduce the administrative bureaucracy but after eleven months of course it is a lack of respect for all of them," he stressed.
