The PNV promotes a legal change to extend the regulated gas rate to communities with central heating

MADRID, 11 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The PNV has proposed a reform in Congress so that housing communities with a centralized natural gas boiler can benefit from the regulated gas rate, known as the Last Resort Rate.

For this, this formation has registered an amendment to the bill derived from the decree law in response to the economic consequences derived from the war in Ukraine approved in August, which is being processed in Congress.

With the amendment, collected by Europa Press, the PNV proposes in a new provision to temporarily enable this regulated rate to communities of centralized boilers with annual consumption greater than 50,000 kWh.

The proposal is that the communities can take advantage of the TUR of "the reference marketer in their area" based on the average annual consumption computed per home, with a mandatory stay until March 31, 2024.

The objective, explains the PNV, is to give legal reserve to these consumers, who, when their collective consumption is computed, are excluded from the regulated tariff for exceeding in most cases a consumption of more than 50,000 kWh, therefore having to take advantage of the free market.

These rates are substantially more expensive, especially after the Government has limited the increase in the price of gas in the quarterly review of the regulated rate.
