The Peruvian Prosecutor's Office includes the Prime Minister and the Minister of Justice in an investigation against Castillo

MADRID, 6 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Peruvian Prosecutor's Office has included the Prime Minister, Aníbal Torres, and the Minister of Justice and Rights, Félix Chero, in the investigation that follows the alleged crimes of criminal organization and personal cover-up of President Pedro Castillo.

"The prosecutor of the nation has arranged to include the president of the Council of Ministers, Aníbal Torres, in his capacity as former Minister of Justice, and the current head of that portfolio, Félix Chero, in the preliminary investigation for the crime of Criminal Organization," The Public Ministry has informed in a statement.

In this way, Torres and Chero have joined the case being investigated by the special team against corruption of the Prosecutor's Office and for which the fugitive former head of the Transport and Communications portfolio, Juan Silva, is already being investigated, reported the RPP station.

Likewise, they are added to the open case against President Pedro Castillo to place people they trust in key positions.

According to the investigation against Castillo, an alleged criminal organization would have been installed in the highest positions of the Government with the objective of placing people they trust in key positions and then granting fraudulent public tenders.

Relatives such as his wife Lilia Paredes and his sister-in-law, Yenifer Paredes, who is currently facing 36 months in preventive detention, would have participated in this alleged criminal organization, according to 'Diario Correo'.

The investigation against the head of state began after the departure of Mariano González from the Ministry of the Interior, who accused Castillo of obstructing justice.
