The Moroccan Justice increases the prison sentence for 15 migrants who tried to jump the Melilla fence

MADRID, 30 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Court of Appeal of the Moroccan city of Nador has increased from 11 months to three years the prison sentences of 15 migrants who were arrested during the assault on the Melilla fence on June 24.

This has been reported by the Moroccan Association for Human Rights (AMDH) of Nador in a statement, in which it has denounced that the sentence of the 15 migrants from Sudan and Chad has been multiplied by three compared to the first instance.

"The 15 Sudanese and Chadian migrants presented today before the Nador Court of Appeal were sentenced to three years in prison. A sentence multiplied by more than 3 compared to that of first instance," the AMDH detailed in the letter.

The organization has highlighted that it continues to observe the trials of the migrants who tried to cross into Spain last June and who have been involved in "several violations" committed by the courts of the northern Moroccan city.
