The life of Elizabeth II, in pictures

Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom has died today at the age of 96, after 70 years and 214 days of reign, one of the longest in history and the longest in her country. Here we take a tour with images of her life and her family.

Born on April 21, 1926, Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom came to the throne at the age of 25 after the death of her father in 1952. In her long reign she has met fifteen British ministers, the last being the newly appointed Liz Truss, twelve presidents of the United States and has witnessed the most important events of the 20th century and the first two decades of the 21st.
