The Labor leader celebrates the imminent resignation of Johnson, which "should have happened a long time ago"

MADRID, 7 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The leader of the United Kingdom Labor Party, Keir Starmer, has applauded the news about an imminent resignation of the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, assuring that, in his opinion, it "should have happened a long time ago".

For Starmer, the main leader of the British opposition, this is "good news" for a country that needs "a new beginning". Labor had been asking for Johnson's departure for months, although internal pressure from the Conservatives has finally been key.

Starmer has accused the 'tories' of causing "chaos" at a time of unprecedented crisis and has recalled that "they have been in power for twelve years". "We do not need a change in the 'tory' leadership, we need a change in the Government," she has claimed in a note.
