The Kings, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía have arrived at 19.25 this Monday at the Museu de les Aigües Agbar in Cornellà de Llobregat to preside over the awards ceremony of the Fundación Princesa de Girona (FPdGi) 2022, where they have not received no member of the Government.

Upon arrival at the venue, they were received by the President of the Congress, Meritxell Batet; the Minister of Education, Pilar Alegría; the Government Delegate in Catalonia, Maria Eugènia Gay; the mayor of Cornellà de Llobregat, Antonio Balmón (PSC), and the leader of the PSC, Salvador Illa, as well as members of the FPdGi and the president of the Agbar Foundation, Ángel Simón.

The Princess of Girona Awards, endowed with 20,000 euros and a sculpture designed by Juan Zamora (Arts and Letters Award 2017), aim to support young people.

The awards ceremony began at 7:45 p.m. and before the act, the Monarchs were received with applause by the attendees, at the ceremony in which King Felipe VI and Princess Leonor intervened.

This year's winners are the actress, playwright and producer María Hervás, Arts and Letters Award; the engineer Elisenda Bou-Balust (Company Award), the physicist Eleonora Viezzer (Scientific Research Award), the psychologist Claudia Tecglen (Social Award) and the Vietnamese writer Trang Nguyen (International Award).

Hours before the awards ceremony, the King and Queen of Spain met at the Palacete Albéniz in Barcelona with the FPdGi Advisory Council and received the winners of previous editions.

In the Palacete, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía have also participated in the workshop organized by Code.org in the palace gardens together with a dozen young people.
