MADRID, 2 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

King Felipe VI received this Thursday at the Palacio de la Zarzuela the members of the Court of Accounts, the institution that from next year will examine the accounting of Casa del Rey and how the item assigned to it by the General Budgets of the Condition.

The hearing was organized on the occasion of the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the enactment of the Organic Law of the Court of Accounts and the appointment at the palace was attended by the president of the Court of Accounts, Enriqueta Chicano Jávega, the account directors, the Chief Prosecutor of the TCu and the General Secretary.

But the meeting also coincided with the signing of the agreement between the House of His Majesty the King and the Court of Auditors to carry out the audit of accounts as the supreme auditing body of the accounts and the economic management of the State and of the entire public sector. The president of the Court of Auditors has signed the agreement on behalf of the institution.

In April, the Council of Ministers approved the modification of the royal decree for the restructuring of the Casa del Rey and, among other measures, established that Zarzuela's accounts will be submitted each year to the external audit of the Court of Accounts.

The annual accounts subject to the audit will be those corresponding to the execution and liquidation of the budget allocations included in Section 01 of the General State Budgets. The report will reflect whether the annual accounts express in all their significant aspects the faithful image of the assets and the financial situation of the entity, as well as its results and cash flows and the state of liquidation of the budget.

The first audit will be carried out with the data of this year 2023 and the report will be presented and delivered to the House of His Majesty the King the following year.

This Thursday is the first institutional visit to the Palacio de la Zarzuela of the advisors of the Court of Auditors who were elected by the General Courts in November 2021 by virtue of an agreement between PSOE, United We Can and the PP.

The Organic Law of the Court of Accounts was approved by the Cortes Generales and sanctioned by the King on May 12, 1982. The law, whose 40th anniversary is commemorated, regulated the supervisory function of the economic and financial activity of the public sector and the accounting judgment function.
