The industry shoots up 29.8% its turnover in May

MADRID, 19 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The turnover of the industry rose 29.8% in May compared to the same month of 2021, a rate 2.4 points higher than that of April, according to data released this Tuesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

The original series experiences an annual variation of 32.6%. This rate is 9.6 points higher than that of April.

By economic destination of the goods, the indices corrected for seasonal and calendar effects present positive annual rates in all the sectors analyzed. Among them, the increase in energy stands out (142.2%).

By geographical destination of sales, all markets presented positive annual rates in May. The increase of 36.3% in the domestic market stands out.

The turnover increases compared to May 2021 in all the autonomous communities. The greatest increases occurred in the Region of Murcia (65.3%), the Balearic Islands (55.2%) and the Principality of Asturias (46.4%). And minors in Comunidad Foral de Navarra (13.5%), Comunidad de Madrid (22.4%) and Castilla y León (23.3%).

In monthly terms (between the months of May and April) eliminating seasonal and calendar effects, it is 0.3%. This rate is 15.4 points lower than the previous month.

By economic destination of the goods, four of the five sectors present positive monthly rates. Among them, the increase in Energy stands out (8.3%). The only sector that fell was Capital goods (-0.5%).
