The Government will approve in September the decree for domestic workers that was delayed due to "last minute adjustments"

MADRID, 2 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Secretary of State for Employment, Joaquín Pérez Rey, explained this Tuesday that the decree on the employment situation of domestic workers, which will allow them to collect unemployment, will be approved "predictably" after the summer, after the Executive will delay it "slightly" by "last minute adjustments" to its content.

In statements to journalists, Pérez Rey explained that this initiative has not reached the last Council of Ministers due to "technical adjustments" that "have to do with the fact that this group has never historically been in the social protection circuits".

Even so, the Secretary of State has advanced that the decree has covered practically "all government procedures", including that of the Delegate Commission for Economic Affairs.

Given this, as Pérez Rey has pointed out, "it is foreseeable" that the decree will be approved "as soon as the Executive joins in on its usual activity after the summer. That is to say, "after August, beginning of September", as he has indicated.
