The Government spent 65,000 euros in the act at the Royal Theater for the 40th anniversary of entry into NATO

MADRID, 6 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Government spent at least 65,000 euros in the organization of the commemorative event for the 40th anniversary of Spain's entry into NATO at the Teatro Real on May 30, which King Felipe VI presided over and was attended by the president, Pedro Sánchez, and the secretary general of the Atlantic Alliance, Jens Stoltenberg, among others.

This is stated in the agreement signed by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) and the Royal Theater, published this Monday in the BOE and to which Europa Press has had access.

Said agreement expressly refers to the concert with which the act began, in which Sánchez, Stoltenberg and the King took part and during which there was also a debate by former secretaries general of the Alliance, including Solana. Thus, during the event the Madrid Symphony Orchestra performed.

In the section on the financing of the event, it is specified that the "Royal Theater will assume a total amount of 65,000 euros, broken down into 40,000 euros for renting the Main Hall for the concert, 15,000 euros for renting the Protocol Rooms of the second floor for the realization of the lunch, and 10,000 euros for the support staff, room staff and personnel linked to the correct realization of the event".

For its part, the AECID "undertakes to pay the Teatro Real the maximum total amount of 80,000 euros", including all applicable taxes once it receives "due justification for the payment of those amounts". After analyzing the documentation, "it will liquidate the part corresponding to the commitments assumed in this agreement."

By virtue of the document, the AECID undertook to cover all the necessary expenses for the production and performance of the concert --hiring of the director and soloist, hiring of the musicians of the orchestra, rental of musical material (scores), rental of instruments and copyright--.

Likewise, the cooperation agency also had to take charge of "the catering expenses for the production of Spanish wine" and of sending the invitations to the attendees, among whom were the former presidents of the Government Felipe González, José María Aznar and José Luis Rodriguez Zapatero.

For its part, the Teatro Real assumed the commitment to take charge of the rooms in which the activities were to be held, the design and artistic programming of the concert, in addition to its organization, development and coordination. He also had to take care of organizing the Spanish wine.
