The Government hopes that the PP will support the energy saving decree in Congress and stop "obstructing"

The Minister of Territorial Policy and Government spokesperson, Isabel Rodríguez, stated this Monday that the Executive is already working to achieve the maximum number of possible supports, including that of the PP, to carry out the energy saving decree in Congress.

In statements to TVE collected by Europa Press, Rodríguez has pointed out that this decree "is not an occurrence of the Government", since it comes from decisions adopted by the European Union (EU), supported by countries "of different political status", for which has underlined that the political groups that do not give their support to it must explain the meaning of their vote.

"The vast majority of Spaniards understand the situation. We are facing a war that is altering energy policy in the world and where the EU is showing the strength to go in the right direction, to fight Putin all together, also from the energy policy", he stressed.

Thus, asked if the PP will support the decree, Rodríguez stated that "every time he sees the Popular Party in a more obstructionist direction."

"Until now they were deniers but since Feijóo's arrival they have also dedicated themselves to obstructing the government's action. I hope they rectify it because this time it would not only be in evidence before the whole of Spain, but also before the EU itself and its own colleagues from other countries. ", he assured.
